QIPL opened its location in Hyderabad in April 2004 and is designed to help keep pace with QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies (QCT) expanding business needs. Projects cover a wide span, including wireless modem and multimedia software, DSP and embedded applications. Multiple opportunities at various experience levels and titles exist for research and development, test and customer support activities.
QUALCOMM Internet Services (QIS) and an Engineering Services Group have also established an office in Mumbai for CDMA marketing, BREW support and technical support for CDMA carriers.
On September 30, 2004, QUALCOMM Incorporated announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Spike Technologies, Inc. , a leading semiconductor design services company, headquartered in Milpitas, California, with a design center in Bangalore. Spike Technologies is being integrated into QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies (QCT) division to help QUALCOMM further address the increasing demand for faster time to market of more feature-rich products in 90 nanometer (nm) and below process technologies. The addition of Spike's engineering resources strongly complements QUALCOMM's commitment to provide third-generation (3G) CDMA customers and partners with design, sales and technical support around the world.
