Is Job Loss Making You Sick?


Job loss affects most of us like anyother loss in life. Yes, there are otherlosses that are greater, but this onecomes close too!

From my experience, job loss canmake anyone sick! There can beterrible anger; anger which turns into depression. Even euphoria,has its other side; depression isit.

Relief at getting out of a bad jobshould be enjoyed while it lasts.Relief and euphoria can preparethe job loser with a second wind!

It's at the time when anger, depression and frustration set inthat the job "loser--soon to bejob seeker" can hit some roughspots with displaced anger; sleeplessness, and a feeling ofmild despair.

Again, from my point of view,this is the time of job loss toexercise at something. Exercisingnot as drudgery, but at somethingthat is fun.

The most important thing to dois to get emotional support. Nevermind whether it is from a friend,family member or an agency.Support is crucial in avoidingillnesses, which can surface evenafter getting a new job.

Talk, talk, talk it out. Write, write, write it out. This experiencewill not last forever.

When you look at the experiencefrom another point of view, MAYBEthis is a new time to think ofWELLNESS; when you look for yournext job.

Practice new skills before settingnew goals, laugh a lot, and begood to yourself at last!
